Drug awareness programme held in Tral

PULWAMA, Sep 2: Under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign, an awareness programme against drug abuse was held in Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Tral district Pulwama on Friday.

The awareness programme was attended by a large number of students from different schools of Tral sub district, locals, social activists, government employees and others.

The programme was held on the directions of ADC Tral, Shabir Ahmad Raina, and was conducted in presence of Sub District Police Officer, Tral, Mubashir Rasool.  On the occasion, the speakers deliberated upon the ill effects of illicit drugs, and asked participants to stay away from this menace.

They also requested them to help the government in curbing the drug peddlers, and making the society free from drugs.  Talking to media, ADC Shabir Ahmad said that the event was held under the government’s programme of curbing drug abuse.

He said that youth, particularly youngsters, are getting involved in drugs, which is the matter of grave concern, and need to be controlled to save our young generation.
