Drug De-addiction programme held in Achabal Anantnag

ANANTNAG, July 23: A drug awareness programme was held at Achabal in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

The program was organised by J&K Police Anantnag (Sub.division  Achabal) in Collaboration with Anti corruption  Foundation Team Anantnag. Under the theme of “Toh Chalo Ek Kadam Drug Free Kashmir Ki Aur”

SDPO Achabal Raqeeb Ah Malik, SHO Achabal Sarfaraz Ahmad, Ullamas ‘Auqaf Presidents of different villages’ BDC Chairman  Achabal Shah Firdoosa, Vice Chairman BDO Achabal and officers from other departments, and a huge number of people, including school children from different schools awareness session.

The speakers discussed drug usage and the importance of preventing drug addiction and other social evils in the Area.

The major goal of the programme, according to the organisers, was to raise awareness within the student population and encourage them to take the necessary actions to combat the drug problem

Adil Husssin District President ACF Anantnag, urged the kids to avoid drug usage and other social evils by being role models in education, sports, and other activities. He emphasised on the negative impacts of drugs, saying that it begins as a harmless pastime but quickly becomes an addiction.

He stated that the young generation is most affected by drug addiction and  must be totally removed from society, requesting the collaboration of all stakeholders.
