Srinagar, November 23: J&K Peoples Movement (JKPM) has expressed dismay over the erratic power supply and solicited redressal from the administration to ensure that consumers get adequate power, supply during the harsh months of winter.
JKPM Vice President Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir has demanded that the administration must ensure the proper supply of electricity during the winter months.
“At the onset of every winter, Kashmiris have to brace for long, harsh, scheduled and unscheduled power cuts. The power department is not providing electricity according to its own schedule, and power cuts much longer than the curtailment schedule are already being reported”, Iqbal Tahir said in his statement.
JKPM Vice President reminded the government that power cuts can prove fatal for Covid-19 patients who are on oxygen support at their homes. Taking a dig over the current state of affairs, there has been no change or any effort to upgrade the power infrastructure in the state over last many decades.
