Ganderbal, Mar 29 : Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Krittika Jyotsba (IAS) on Monday issued a circular, asking all the officers to ensure that the national flag is flown on all government offices and buildings within 15 days.
A circular issued in this regard by the District Magistrate reads that “the Indian National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is the symbol of our National pride. There is universal affection and respect for, and loyalty to the National Flag.”
“The Government of India, to bring awareness amongst the people and also in the organizations / agencies of the government, in regard to laws, practices and conventions that apply to the display of the National Flag, has defined a Flag Code of India, 2002,” it further said.
“For the sake of convenience, Flag Code of India, 2002, has been divided into three parts, Part I of the Code contains general description of the National Flag, Part Il of the Code is devoted to the display of the National Flag by the members of public, private organization, education institutions etc. and Part III of the Code relates to display of the National Flag by Central and State Governments and their organizations and agencies,” it added.
“Now in the backdrop of above, it is enjoined upon all District / Sectoral / Tehsil /Block level officers to ensure that National Flag is flown on all Government officers /buildings across the district within 15 days, it reads, adding that additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal shall be the Nodal Officer for implementation of this circular in letter and spirit,” the circular stated.
