Sopore, Mar 29 : Hours after the Sopore gunmen’s attack forces sealed Brath village and conducted house to house searches in the area.
Sources informed Kashmir Despatch, a mixture of forces conducted house to house searches in Brath village following inputs about the presence of militants movement.
Police earlier in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said that militants had fired indiscriminately upon the Municipal Councilors near Lone Building opposite SDH Sopore resulting in injuries to two Municipal Councilors namely Reyaz Ahmad Pir and Shams-ud-din Pir and a police personnel namely Shafqat Nazir.
“However, among the injured Councilor Reyaz Ahmad and police personnel Shafqat Ahmad succumbed to their injuries. Another injured councilor has been shifted to hospital for treatment of his injuries,” the police statement said.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar after visited Sopore and inspected cite of incident said that “Local LeT militant Mudasir Pandit and one (foreign militant) are involved in attack,”
