Markets will open for three days prior to Eid, guidelines to be issued by concerned DC’s: Div Com

Srinagar, July 22: Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the government announced lockdown in all the districts of Kashmir except Bandipora from today evening to 27th July.
The announcement of Lockdown came from J&K DIPR twitter handle which read, “Complete lockdown in all Red districts (excluding Bandipora) of Kashmir Division from today evening till 6:00 AM on 27 th July”.
”However, as per the government, agriculture, horticulture, construction activities will continue as per DMRR guidelines. While movement of goods carriers/LPG & Oil tankers to continue unhindered”, it added.
District Magistrate Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told Kashmir Despatch that earlier during the lockdown there was support from all the sections of the society. Whereas now lockdown has been re-imposed so we seek same support from everyone.
He added, “When relaxations were announced, we had put forth consideration of every stake holder and now we are prepared for the re-imposition of lockdown.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P.K Pole told Kashmir Despatch that the lockdown will be imposed till 27th July morning.
He added, “While concerned District Commissioners of different districts will decide over the opening of shops 28, 29 and 30th July so that people can purchase different items for Eid. Whereas, guidelines in such regard, will be announced by concerned district magistrates, across Kashmir.
