The J & K Innovative Foundation For Transforming Society ( JKIFTS ) today said that the sudden upsurge in number of cases of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir is very concerning.
While talking to Kashmir Despatch, Chairman JKIFTS Dr Tasaduk Hussain said ” It is very concerning to witness the number of cases of Covid-19 are exponentially rising in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kashmir in particular. The community spread of the virus is taking its lead unfortunately” he said.
He further told this newspaper that the situation is becoming alarming in Kashmir with increasing number of cases since few days on daily basis and it might turn worse if people wouldn’t take it seriously, as responsible citizens and follow the lockdown strictly with “break this chain” hash tag.
The JKIFTS had advised the people who are entering to valley from abroad to behave like good citizens and reveal their travel history with honesty and for public safety.
Meanwhile the World Health Organization has also take a strong note that the “lockdown will surely decrease the burden on healthcare system, but besides it effective contact tracing, testing, quarantining, isolation and treating patients in lines of international guidelines are key measures in tackling this pandemic”.
