Shopian, Dec 31: Forces on Monday night launched a cordon-and-search operation at Melhora area of Shopian in South Kashmir District.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a joint team of army’s 44 RR, and special operation group of police (SOG) laid a siege at Melhora village of Shopian late today evening.
Local reports said, forces conducted door to door search operation in the area.
Meanwhile officials while confirming this nocturnal CASO to Kashmir Despatch said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the movement of some suspected militants.
