“Termed Sopore operation a big success”

The Sopore encounter was a joint operation and was supervised overnight by forces in which three dreaded Lashkar commanders were killed, informed Kashmir Deputy inspector general of police (DGP) Dilbag Singh, terming the operation a big success.
The Top commander Mudasir Pandith alias Mazz Bai was killed along with two others militants in Sopore outskirts.
“18 FIR’s were registered against the militant chief as he was involved in killing of activists and other people. All the militant activities done by him were supported by Pakistani militant Asrar Abdullah, while as 3rd militant Khursheed was involved in terror activities carried out by Mudasir Pandith,” DGP told media person.
He said that the trio were involved in recent Sopore attack in which 2 civilian and 2 policemen were killed.
“Ceasefire agreement shows positive impact which is a welcome thing. But with the killing of two foreign militants in latest operations, it indicates foreign militants are still present in valley. Meanwhile there is no such big number of militants in Srinagar but whatever there is I am sure we will catch hold of that very soon,” Dilbag added.
He said that there is no infiltration excluding some attempts of weapons smuggling in north which were caught by security forces.
While speaking to media H.S.Saji, GoC kilo force said that there was no collateral damage in the operation.
“One jawan received some injury and is stable. These militants were involved in recent attacks in Sopore. The militants along with local militant were trying to create network to carry out terror activities in Sopore,” Saji added.
He said that the security forces are working on to thwart this network.
“People should help to break this network. Local youth should be kept away from this trap of violence. We appeal local youth to shun gun culture and come back,” he added.
