Chuntiwari is a remote village in Machhal Valley. The residents here and in neighbouring villages share a common passion with the rest of India, the passion for the Gentleman’s Game.
The Local Army Unit at Chuntiwari organised a Cricket Tournament as part of the Sadbhavana Mission of the Indian Army.
The Tournament saw massive participation from all the villages in the Chuntiwari bowl namely, Chuntiwari Payen, Chuntiwari Bala, Dhoban , Khan Basti and Ring Payen. However, Chuntiwari Payen emerged victorious after defeating Chuntiwari Bala in the Final Match.The Players were given attractive prizes including Cash, Medals and Certificates.
Such constructive engagement of the Youth in the Valley will go a long way in changing their general outlook towards life and will push them to strive as hard in real life as in sports .
