BARAMULLA, Nov 28: In his statement issued to Kashmir Despatch, the Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla said he understands the importance of a fair and impartial inquiry, and is committed to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a transparent examination of the case.

 “It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the untimely demise of Mrs. Dilshada, a 34-year-old female patient who was admitted at Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla on 27th November 2023. Mrs. Dilshada was admitted as a case of G2P1L1(LSCS) with POG 38 weeks in labour and underwent a Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) on the same day at around 10:35 AM. The entire medical team at Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla extends heartfelt condolences to the family of Mrs. Dilshada in this difficult time. Every effort was made to provide the best possible medical care to Mrs. Dilshada during her stay at our hospital.

Upon receiving news of the unfortunate demise, the Worthy Principal of GMC Baramulla has taken immediate action to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mrs. Dilshada’s passing. A committee of seasoned professionals is being constituted to examine the case in detail, and their findings will be made public as soon as the investigation is concluded.In adherence to the commitment to transparency and accountability, the Head of the Department of Gynaecology at GMC Baramulla has been directed to furnish a comprehensive incident report within one day. This report will shed light on the events leading up to Mrs. Dilshada’s demise and provide a thorough understanding of the medical care provided.

It is our sincere hope that the community and the media exercise caution and refrain from making any premature allegations or speculations until the investigative committee completes its work.
