Baramulla, January 4 : In a major breakthrough, the Department of Orthopaedics at Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla successfully performed a pioneering AC Acrominoclavicular Joint Shoulder Reconstruction with Hamstring Graft. Led by Assistant Professor Dr Ishtiyaq Abdullah, supported by Dr Aamir and Dr Shafeeq(SR), this procedure marks a historic milestone for GMC Baramulla.
The surgical team, along with the expert Anesthesia team led by Dr Gulzar and Dr Parvaiz, and the dedicated technical staff, executed the intricate AC Joint reconstruction without the use of any implant. This showcases the team’s skill and expertise in providing advanced healthcare services.
The patient, who had been diagnosed with a Type 3 right AC Joint dislocation, underwent an MRI evaluation and was scheduled for the groundbreaking procedure under the Aayushman Bharat scheme. The surgery took place at the Ortho Theatre GMC Baramulla, utilizing a bra-type incision for precision. The joint was meticulously reconstructed with a Hamstring Graft, resulting in a successful outcome for the patient.
