“Great loss to Kashmir’s media fraternity”: Journalist Mudasir Ali passes away

Srinagar: Prominent journalist Mudasir Ali working with Greater Kashmir newspaper passed away this morning after suffering a massive heart attack.

According to reports Mudasir complained of chest pain at around 2 am in morning on Friday, he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mudasir a resident of Chrar-i-Sharif of district Budgam was a correspondent for Greater Kashmir for over 10 years, he was a regular writer at a prominent news portal, The Wire.in as well. His work featured in other national and international media outlets.

Meanwhile, the Kashmir Press Club has expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Mudasir Ali.

“The sudden demise of Mudasir, who worked for Greater Kashmir and also contributed to leading national and international media organisations, is indeed a great loss to the journalistic fraternity of Kashmir,” KPC said in a statement.

Mudasir was one of the finest and hardworking reporters who earned respect among his colleagues by his work, KPC said.

Adding that his death has left a void that would be difficult to fill.

At this hour of grief, the Kashmir Press Club management and the journalist fraternity of Kashmir express their sympathies and solidarity with the bereaved family especially with the younger brother of Mudasir Ali journalist Jahangir Ali. May Allah grants the bereaved family the patience to bear this huge loss, the statement concluded.

The news was received with shock across the journalist fraternity.

The Kashmir Walla condoles the demise and expresses solidarity with the bereaved family. May he rest in eternal peace.
