Gunfight rages in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 17: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Batmaloo area of Srinagar District.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that a Gunfight broke out in Batmaloo, he said a cordon and search operation was launched in the area following inputs about the presence of some militants.
The search operation turned into gunfight after hidding militants fired upon searching party.
A police officer said contact has been established and firing from both sides is on.
