Gunmen hurl grenade at BDC candidate’s house in Handwara

Handwara, Nov 29 : Suspected gunmen on Sunday evening hurled a grenade at the residence of a BDC candidate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Sources informed Kashmir Despatch that suspected gunmen lobbed a greande towards the residence of Azad Ahmad Bhat son of Khazir Mohammad Bhat of Yaroo area of Langate who is contesting BDC election from Langate.

Sources added the grenade missed the target and fell down on the premises of the said house and also not exploded.

Meanwhile when Kashmir Despatch contacted SP Handwara G.V Sandeep termed it a rumour. He said nothing such happened in the area.

Pertinently, last week unknown persons lobbed a greande at Nutnusa area in Kupwara district, however in the attack no loss of life or any injury was reported in the attack.
