Baramulla : Amid harsh winter,The Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti the birthday of Sikh Guru was celebrated here in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Thursday with full of festivity and gaiety.
Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is a Sikh festival that commemorates the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. It is a religious celebration in which prayers for prosperity are offered.
The day long programme was started in the Chaitipasha Gurdwara with prayer,where people from Sikh community across north Kashmir gathered in the Gurdwara to mark the occasion.
On the day ‘guru ka langar’ (free kitchen) was also served to the devotees. On the auspicious occasion Sikh people extended their best wishes and message of love, peace, brotherhood and progress among all in the Kashmir valley especially in Baramulla district.
