Baramulla : The daily rated workers of Power Development Department (PDD) on Thursday held strong protest demonstration in support of their pending demands in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.
Scores of daily rated PDD workers on Thursday assembled outside PDD Office in Baramulla and started protest demonstration. They were demanding regularization and release of their pending wages.
While speaking with Kashmir Despatch the protesting employees demanded to higher authorities to regularize them under SRO 381 of 1981. The protesting employees said we have been working in the department since more than 7 years.
The protesters told that their salaries are withheld from past eight years due to which they are facing immense hardships. “I am sole bread earner of my family and the government by not releasing our wages put miseries in our lives. Despite working with dedication, the government is not releasing our salaries on time,” said a protesting employee.
Meanwhile The employees appealed to the government to meet their demands soon.
