Hailstorm, heavy rains damage crops, vegetables in Uri

Srinagar, May 02: Heavy rains and hailstorm caused huge damage to the crops and various kinds of vegetables in north Kashmir’S Uri on Saturday.


Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said heavy rains, wind and hailstorm damaged crops and various kinds of fruits and vegetables in parts of Boniyar and border town Uri this afternoon.

The windy storm triggered by heavy rainfall has lead to massive damage to crops on which farmers depend for their livelihood.


Meanwhile affected farmers, as well as villagers, urged authorities to assess the losses and accordingly compensate them.
