Hanjiwera residents protest against PHE deptt

Pattan : Residents of Hanjiwera Payeen in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district staged a protest demonstration on Saturday against the shortage of drinking water supply from the past week.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that the aggrieved residents including women and hit streets and blocked Baramulla-Srinagar highway for hours.

Reports said the residents were shouting slogans against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide them with regular water supply in the area.

The protesting inhabitants alleged that the PHE employees hardly bother to restore water supply to the locality in this chilling winter and forced them to hit the roads.


The residents were demanding the immediate restoration of the problem reports added.


Meanwhile a team of civil admin headed by Reports Tehsildar Pattan reached the spot and assured locals of taking up their matter with authorities concerned.
