Indian Army Organizes Medical Camp for Uri Villagers After Ceasefire Violations
As part of its ongoing commitment to humanitarian assistance and improving healthcare access in remote areas, the Indian Army organized a medical camp on 26 May 2025 for residents of Uri, District Baramulla, who were affected by recent ceasefire violations. The innocent villagers endured indiscriminate shelling and targeting by the Pakistan Army, resulting in an urgent need for medical and psychological support.
A dedicated team of medical professionals, including a female medical officer, a general physician, and a psychologist, provided comprehensive healthcare services to the local population. Over 500 civilians, including women, children, and the elderly from various villages, benefited from the camp. The initiative offered free medical consultations, basic treatments, and psychological counseling, addressing critical healthcare gaps in this underserved region.
The medical team tackled a wide range of health concerns, conducted awareness sessions on hygiene, general health, and mental well-being, and distributed essential medicines. Special emphasis was placed on women’s health and psychosocial support, ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to community care.
