Kupwara, June 4: A Hindi Olympiad comprising oral and written examinations was successfully conducted at Army Goodwill School (AGS) Hajinar on Thursday, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students of Army Goodwill Schools across the region.
According to organizers, a total of 64 students from AGS Hajinar and AGS Teetwal participated in the competition. Of these, 48 students appeared in the written examination, while 16 students took part in the oral category, presenting patriotic and socially relevant performances.
Students showcased their talent through Hindi poetry recitations, speeches, and a short skit on Digital Bharat. The oral presentations focused on themes such as patriotism, religious harmony, and national development, drawing appreciation from the audience and judges.
The event was attended by Col. Sudeep Boss, Deputy Commander, 104 Infantry Brigade, as the chief guest. Addressing the participants, he lauded the efforts of teachers and organizers in promoting Hindi language learning and encouraging academic excellence among students.
The programme was also attended by members of the Wadij Hindi Shiksha Samiti, including its President Nasreen Ali Nidhi, educationist and research coordinator Rayees Ahmad Mir, member Riyaz Shalhari, member Rehana Kounsar, and judge Dr. Sabzar Ahmed.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests highlighted the significance of the Hindi language in fostering communication, cultural understanding, and national integration. They encouraged students to actively participate in literary and cultural activities to enhance their confidence and overall personality development.
The event was coordinated by Ruksana Begum and Nazma Begum, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the Olympiad.
The programme concluded with appreciation for all participants, teachers, organizers, and guests, making the Hindi Olympiad a memorable educational and cultural event.
