IAS Officer who reportedly goes on protest leave, hinted things have been ‘sorted out’

Date:

Srinagar, June 13 : A senior Commissioner Secretary-level IAS officer who had reportedly proceeded on leave in protest against what reports had said because of “humiliating circumstances”, Saturday refused to comment on the matter but hinted that things have been sorted out.

“Whatever was in the media, I don’t think I need to clear it. There are no issues,” the IAS officer told news agency (KINS) over phone.

When asked to comment on reports that whether he had directly communicated to the LG over some proposal and the senior officer was not happy with it, the IAS officer in response said no “comments”. “No comments. Kindly relax. There are no issues,” the IAS officer texted back to the query on the matter.

However the government order had said that it was “earned leave”.

The charge of his department was given to Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Pawan Kotwal.

As per government order No 642- (JK) GAD of 2020, dated 11-06-2020, ten-day earned leave has been accorded to the IAS officer from 12 June to 21 June, 2020.

It was reported that the Commissioner/Secretary level officer had applied for leave after a senior officer called the IAS officer over phone on June 5 and allegedly used “abusive and intimidating words against him over some issue related to a report on a government scheme”.

The reports had said that in his application for leave, the IAS officer said he was shocked by the humiliation to which he was subjected to. (KINS)
