PULWAMA, Aug 9: Forest Protection Force captured two horses laden with illicit timber in Roomshi Forest Range of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that at around 3 pm last night, the Forest Protection Party from Romshi range Pulwama laid a naka at Abhama village after receiving information about the movement of forest smugglers.
During the operation two horses laden with illicit timber were seized at Abhama village of Pulwama district. They further said during the last two months we have seized 432 CFT illicit timber, 11 house’s and a Tata Mobile was also seized which were carrying out timber, besides 35 smugglers have been arrested and 7 FIR’s were registered in different police stations.
“We will sacrifice our lives for the sake of forests. They appealed to the general public to come forward whenever they have information regarding forest smugglers” they told Kashmir Despatch.
