SOPORE, Sep 9: In a bizarre incident, insects were found in rice served to kids at Integrated Child Development Scheme centre in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Friday.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that rice served at ICDS centre at Neharpora area of Sopore were found contaminated with worms and insects. Moreover, this rice was found to have crossed the ‘best to use before’ date also.
Sources added that following the complaint a team led by councillor Irfan Ali found insects in the rice served to the kids at the ICDS centre at Neharpora area.
He, however, directed the authorities to constitute an inquiry into this issue as the matter pertains to the health of small children.
Talking with Kashmir Despatch Mohsin Mushtaq CDPO Sopore said that the matter has been brought into his notice. He said will work look into this issue on priority and will address the grievances .
