Baramulla : Scores of women on Monday hit the roads and staged demonstration against the installation of smart electric meters.
According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, inhabitants of Khawajabagh area of Baramulla sloganeering against the installation of smart electricity meters by the electricity department.
The protesting residents of Hyder-colony talking to Kashmir Despatch said, it’s shame on PDD department for failed to provide electricity in this holly month of Ramadan, they said everyone is not from high profile family and eveyone can’t effort invertor.
The protesting women said they belong from middle class families and they can’t pay the huge electricity tariff bills.
The protesting women group however, appealing to Modi led Government, DC Baramulla to look into this issue sothat common and poor people will not suffer.
Pertinently, The government has set the target of installing four lakh smart meters in union territory by 2023.
