Baramulla, Jan 08 : A delegation from Jahama village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday staged a protest at DC office Baramulla in favour to highlight their grievances.
A group of people from Jahama village protests against PDD department and damanded upgradation of power transformer in the area.
While raising slogans against PDD the protesting delegation said that they are reeling under dark with the transformer due to less voltage.
The protestors said that they have demanded upgradation of transformer since past two years but nothing happened on ground but only adds to our sufferings.
They said we are 45 families in one transformer and the electricity which we are recieving is of no use as we are using candle lights during dinner time and even LED lamp is not working on it.
They said that the transformer can’t bear much load especially during the winter.
The residents said that if the PDD does not solve the problem they will have not option but to hit the streets and block the road in protest.
We pay electric fee to the department but our problems have been never been solved despite approached our adminsitrtaion time to time.
Meanwhile the protesting delegation appealed DC Baramulla to look into the matter and provide them a high voltage of transformer so that they will not face inconvenience.
