Sikhs in Baramulla protest against attack on gurdwara in Pakistan’s Nankana Sahib

Baramulla : Sikh community in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday registered their protest against the attack on the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, in Pakistan last week.

Scores of Sikh community people on Wednesday assembled at one place in Baramulla town to condemn the mob attack on the Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and the stone pelting on the pilgrims in Pakistan.

The protesting sikh community during protest said that elements in Pakistan want to give trouble to the minorities including the Sikhs. They demanded an immediate probe would fix the responsibility following which action can be taken against the culprits.

The protesting Sikh people later submitted their memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Office Baramulla.

On Friday, the holy shrine in Pakistan was attacked by a massive mob and caught unawares, several Sikh devotees found themselves stranded inside the Gurdwara. The mob outside the holy shrine raised highly incendiary and hateful slogans against the Sikh community in Pakistan.
