Srinagar, May 04 : A notorious thief and druggist hailing from Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri town and the son of a retired Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) who was booked in many cases of theft and drug peddling has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA).
An official said that the notorious theif has been identified as Sunny Sharma, resident of ward No 5 Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri.
He said that the accused has been booked under PSA for his repeated involvement in theft cases and drug peddling thereby posing a threat to peace and order.
He did not change his behaviour inspite of been booked in several FIRs and arrest by police in these cases but he continued his illegal and unlawful act of theft and such activities of Sunny Sharma have become headache for people of Jawahar Nagar and Rajouri city.
He said that keeping in view the activities of said accused as his activities amounts to propagating and creating feelings of terror among communities, the accused was ordered to be detained under section 8 of PSA and has been lodged in jail. he said. (KS)
