Srinagar, Aug 21: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has reconstituted a four-member committee to oversee the operationalisation and implementation of its Live Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings Rules, 2023.
According to an order issued by the High Court, the committee will also identify and determine the categories of cases and proceedings in which live streaming can initially be introduced.
The reconstituted panel comprises Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Sanjay Dhar and Justice Rahul Bharti.
The committee has been constituted by the Acting Chief Justice through Order No. 1314 of 2026/RG, partially modifying an earlier order, No. 795 of 2026/RG, issued on May 20.
The panel has been tasked with examining the nature and categories of proceedings that can be brought under live streaming in the initial phase, in accordance with the 2023 Rules.
Faizan I Nazar, Central Project Coordinator of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, has been designated as the Presenting Officer of the committee.
The development comes three months after the High Court first constituted a high-level panel in May to prepare a roadmap for implementing live streaming and recording of court proceedings. That earlier committee had five members, including Justice Sanjeev Kumar, along with Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Sanjay Dhar and Justice Rahul Bharti.
The move is aimed at taking forward the framework for making selected court proceedings accessible through live streaming, while allowing the committee to determine which categories of matters are suitable for the initial rollout.
