Srinagar, September 4: J&K People Movement (JKPM) has criticised the administration for disallowing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from moving out of their houses for a party meeting.
In a press release, JKPM Senior Vice-President Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir said that the administration is lying about the normalcy in J&K. “On one hand the administration keeps asking why political activities are not being resumed, on the other hand, they placed PDP leaders under house arrest and not allowed them to attend their meeting. This shows that the administration is not willing to hear any narrative that is counter to the government’s opinion on the situation in J&K,” Iqbal Tahir said in his statement.
JKPM demands that all political prisoners irrespective of their affiliation should be released and allowed to freely speak their opinions as the same is guaranteed by the constitution of the country.
