JKTA delegation met chief Secretary Atal Dulloo (IAS)

Jammu: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo IAS regarding issues of the teaching community. The delegation was led by UT President JKTA Bhupinder Singh, the delegation called for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme in favour of teachers/ employees appointed after 01.01.2010, emphasizing its role in securing the financial stability of teachers. The plea for UT Pay Grade at par with other Union Territories was also discussed, the broader aim of ensuring fair compensation for teachers. The delegation calls for a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under RET Scheme as these teachers are delivering their services in the perspective schools since 24 years.
Beyond these demands, the delegation’ emphasized
on the concept of character building, environmental awareness, management education, Teachers education and the promotion of indigenous languages reflects JKTA’s visionary approach to education. These initiatives not only enrich the learning experience but also contribute to the holistic development of students. The Chief Secretary’s patient hearing to these multifaceted issues signals a collaborative effort between the government and the teaching community to address critical challenges within the education sector. The outcomes of this meeting have the potential to not only fortify the education in Jammu and Kashmir but also set a precedent for progressive reforms that prioritize the well-being and professional growth of teachers. The chief secretary appreciated the JKTAs five point agenda and listned the major issues of the teachers enlisted above. Others who accompany the delegation include Akhter Abbas Sr. Vice President, Joginder Dingra Vice President Hamiet wani Chief Organisor, Sadaket Malik Media Spokesmen Tirth Singh Balwal Provincial Sr Vice President and District President Ramban, Surjeet Singh Chairman District Udhampur, Sudesh Kumar District President Udhampur , Mudhu Sambyal President Female Wing Jammu, Sajad Malik District President Reasi and Prabhat Singh Zonal President Pancheri.
