The Department of Social Welfare, Baramulla, successfully organized a Mega Awareness Camp on the National Action Plan for Drug Reduction (NAPDDR) at Dak Bungalow Baramulla today, February 15th, 2024.
The event witnessed the participation of esteemed dignitaries, community leaders, field functionaries of various departments and students from various educational institution
The Mega Awareness Camp was graced by the presence of District Social Welfare Officer , Mr. Sajad Ah. Bhat, Deputy CEO, Mr. Harmohinder Singh, and Prof. Tariq Ah. Chalkoo, Vice Principal of GDC Baramulla.
Experts from the District Legal Services Authority, Police Drug De-addiction, and the Department of Health conducted informative sessions on the harmful effects of substance abuse. They emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing this societal challenge.
The resource persons encouraged the gathering to play role in combating drug abuse. The gathering was urged to seek help if needed and to actively contribute to creating a drug-free society.
The Department of Health conducted a healthy session of exercises and activities to emphasize the connection between physical health and overall well-being. This session aimed at promoting a holistic approach to combat substance abuse.
Prof. Tariq Chalkoo while delivering an inspiring presentation stressed on the importance of individual contribution and the impact of one’s actions on society.
Students from Degree College Baramulla and high school students from Boys and Girls Children Home Baramulla (Palaash & Pareesha) field staff from Health and ICDS actively participated in the awareness camp.
