Keran : Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Kashmir frontier, Raja Babu Singh on Wednesday said that From Kashmir to Kanyakumari India is one.

As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Addressing the program under Amrit Mahotsav 172 Bn BSF in association with Agriculture Department J&K along the line of control (LOC) Keran said the border population in Kashmir always played an important role in the peace and prosperity of nation.

The top officer said that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari India is one and people of border areas should not be ignored.

Pertinently, In the series of Community Outreach Programme under the Govt. of India initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75th year of Independence i.e. Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 172 Bn BSF in association with Agriculture Department of J&K distributed seeds & seedlings to the villagers at village Keran.

Village Keran is located very close to the Line of Control. Civil dignitaries and villagers of nearby villages of all four panchayats have attended the event. Civil dignitaries of these villages have appreciated the joint initiative of BSF and Agriculture Department of J&K.

The villagers were of the view that such programme must organized on regular basis in the villages located in far flung areas. Shri Raja Babu Singh, IPS, IG Frontier HQ BSF Srinagar has graced the function as chief guest. In his speech he has assured the villagers that BSF will continue to organize such programme for the benefits of villagers located in remote areas.

He has further confirmed that BSF will organize a Medical Camp at village Keran on 21 May 2022 in a very large scale and also requested the Sarpanch of the villages that they should disseminate this information to all the villagers so that the needy villagers will be benefited. Shri Iqbal Choudhary, Director and other senior officials of Agriculture Department (J & K) were also present in the programme and interacted with available Sarpanches, other civil dignitaries and villagers to know their problems as regards to the issues related to cultivation of local crops.

Besides seeds and seedlings, Sheller machines to each panchayat have also been provided free of cost.
