Date:

Sopore, Nov 29: In response to a news published by the Kashmir Despatch Newspaper, the authorities swiftly took action to address the issue of illegal fencing around a encroached wetland in Haigam village in North Kashmir’s Sopore town.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that soon after the authorities became aware of the case of corruption within the wildlife department in the Hajipora area of Haigam, where one retired employee was illegally gifted 30 marlas of state-owned land by the department, a team of administrators visited the spot and removed all the iron posts around the encroached area.

The officer said that in the coming times, this drive will continue against all those who illegally occupy state land.

Warden Wildlife North Kashmir, Ifshana, and ADC Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina spoke with Kashmir Despatch and ensured that the drive against violators will continue.

Pertinently, Kashmir Despatch broke this news earlier on Wednesday morning.
