The Kishtwar Police, led by SSP Khalil Poswal-JKPS, has achieved a significant breakthrough in addressing the security challenges within the district. A total of 23 terrorists operating from Pakistan/PoK and based in Kishtwar have been declared proclaimed offenders by the UAPA Special Court in Doda.

This achievement comes after 13 terrorists were already declared proclaimed offenders, bringing the total number to 36. The diligent efforts of the Kishtwar Police, spearheaded by CIO Kishtwar Dy. SP Vishal Sharma, played a crucial role in initiating the process by developing essential intelligence and lodging FIR No. 90/2022 U/Sec. 120-B,121-A/IPC 13/18/39/UAPA of PS Chatroo. The investigation meticulously presented all formalities before the Hon’ble UAPA special court in Doda.

SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS highlighted the importance of this achievement and emphasized that, following the declaration as proclaimed offenders, the process of property attachment will be carried out under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code if the absconding terrorists do not surrender before the law within the given time frame set by the Hon’ble court.

The comprehensive list of proclaimed offenders includes individuals from various locations in Kishtwar, such as Dwather Singpora, Zalla Chatroo, Titwan Gurinal, Bagpora Singpora, Sewa Chatroo, Deller Chatroo, Narayan Chingam, and many others.

ADGP Jammu Zone Sh. Anand Jain-IPS has instructed the early identification of the immovable property of all the terrorists for further attachment under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

This significant achievement of declaring these terrorists as proclaimed offenders is a major boost for the security situation in Kishtwar and showcases the relentless efforts of the Kishtwar Police in ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents. The declaration will not only aid in curbing their unlawful activities but also facilitate the confiscation of their assets, further incapacitating their ability to carry out nefarious acts.

This commendable success by the Kishtwar Police serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region. The proactive measures taken by the police force in combating terrorism deserve appreciation and support from the community.

The declaration of these terrorists as proclaimed offenders is an important step forward in the ongoing fight against terrorism and reinforces the resolve of the authorities to ensure the safety and security of the people. It sends a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated, and those involved will face severe consequences under the law.

The Kishtwar Police’s accomplishment in getting these terrorists declared as proclaimed offenders is praiseworthy, and it marks a significant victory in countering the threat posed by terrorist activities in the region. It is indeed a piece of good news for the residents of Kishtwar and a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the police force.
