Leopard mauls duo including a girl in South Kashmir

Kulgam, Mar 30, :  Two persons including a girl were mauled by a leopard in Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.   

The duo were working in the field, when the incident occurred.A Wild Life Department official told that the leopard pounced on the duo and dragged them away, but the timely response from locals forced the leopard to flee from the spot.


After getting the information about the attack, Wild Life Department officials  rushed to the spot and assured villagers that the movement of the leopard would be monitored and will be captured.


  The victims were shifted to hospital for treatment. An official identified them as Idrees Ahmed Naik son of Azad Ahmed and Fancy Jan daughter of Abdul Razak. (KNT)
