Kulgam, Oct 30 : Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Friday said that Lashkar-e-Toiba militants are behind the Kulgam attack in which three BJP workers were killed on late Thursday evening.
While talking to media, as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the IGP Kashmir said that the three militants including two locals are behind the attack. He said efforts are on to track these militants.
“We have identified the militants and the vehicle has been seized in Achabal area of Anantnag. Investigation is going on,” he said.
He said a list of 1619 people whom police has provided protection and security were accomdated in different hotels and BJP leader Fida Husain was also accommodated in hotel Dolphin in Pahalgam, however he after spending three weeks there was roaming on his own will.
The IGP said in this regard investigation has been set into motion that why was roaming in his own vehicle in the area.
The IGP said that this is matter of investigation weather it was a pre-planned attack or not?
The top police officer said that 157 BJP workers have been provided PSOs, and 30 were provided guards and in other pending cases will accommodate those also. He also appealed the leaders not to roam during evening hours without security meausres.
