SRINAGAR : The Army high command on Friday appointed Lt Gen ADS Aujla as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of XV Corps also known as Chinar Corps. Chinar corps is based in Badamibagh area of central Kashmir’s district Srinagar.
Confirming the development sources said that the posting was confirmed on Friday and the officer will be taking charge in the mid of April month.
Army officials said that Aujla has commanded a division in the Kashmir Valley earlier.
“He has vast experience in counter-Militancy and counter-infiltration operations,” Officials said.
The XV Corps is strategically located at Srinagar and is entrusted with the responsibility of handling vigilance along 343 km of the Line of Control and hinterland operation in the hinterland of the valley of Kashmir thus covering span from North of Pir Panjal to Zoji La Pass.
