New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated major projects of strategic importance, developed with an investment of more than ₹4,000 crores.
The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal was also present with PM Modi when these four projects were dedicated to the nation here at Cochin Shipyard (CSL) on Wednesday. He termed new projects ‘Symbols of National Pride’.
“Each state will play a crucial role in propelling India towards development. In the era when India significantly contributed to global GDP and prosperity, our strength emanated from our ports. As India reassumes its role as a central hub in global trade, we are revitalizing our naval power,” said PM Modi during the inauguration of diverse projects in Kochi.
PM Modi reached Guruvayur Temple in Kerala, and offered prayers earlier during the day. The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to Kerala.
“The ISRF and New Dry Dock Project represent a leap forward in India’s ship repair and shipbuilding capabilities and will strengthen India’s position of eminence in the global maritime space. The establishment of the LPG Import Terminal will significantly enhance India’s energy infrastructure by ensuring a steady supply of LPG, benefiting millions of households and businesses in and around the region,” an official statement had said.
