Participants thank SSP Sopore and police authorities for conducting sports festival

SOPORE: The month long Sports Festival organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Sopore concluded on Sunday with SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal promising to conduct such tournaments in near future as well.
As per the reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore started the Sports Festival where several sports tournaments were held with local youth participating in huge numbers.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal said, “The tournament started one and a half month back, while three games were played in sports festival”.
He added that it was the demand of the people of Sopore that Jammu and Kashmir police should conduct such sports games in the area following which the police took the initiative and held games for more than a month.
“After receiving funds from higher authorities the police department conducted the sports festival of which the finals were held today and it was amazing to see that youths have participated in huge numbers”, SSP Sopore said.
“I want to say on behalf on my police department that in future we would conduct such tournaments in Sopore where we would try to bring people from every area for the sports festival. Also i talked to many people here and they were happy over the event while praising the police department for conducting such sports festivals”, he added.
Asked about the demand of drug de addiction centre in Sopore, SSP Sopore said that we have been receiving such demand from all corners of the area and we also fell such place should be present. However, we will take the matter with higher authorities and will definitely find a solution.
Meanwhile the participants have appreciated the role of Jammu and Kashmir especially SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal for conducting such sports festivals.
“These sports festival are unique in a way be healthy and showcase our talent. We appreciate the role of Jammu and Kashmir police and especially SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal for bringing a change in the society”, said one of the participant.
