Parents and School Authorities Urged to Prevent Minors from Driving; Violators Will Face Legal Consequences

Baramulla, Mar 06 : As schools in Kashmir prepare to reopen on Friday, the Traffic Department has issued a stern warning to parents and school authorities, urging them not to allow minors to drive their own vehicles.
Speaking Exclusively with Kashmir Despatch, ARTO Baramulla, Mouzaim Ali, emphasized the importance of ensuring that underage students do not operate personal vehicles to commute to school.
“I request school authorities not to permit minors to come to school in their own vehicles. Those who are underage should not be allowed to use personal transport,” Ali stated.
He further cautioned parents against allowing their underage children to drive vehicles, particularly to school, stressing that the department will adopt a strict stance on this issue. Violators will face legal consequences he warned.

The officer announced that starting tomorrow, the department will launch special drives to crack down on traffic violations. “If any student is found driving without a license or committing other traffic violations, or if any minor is caught, not only will their vehicles or two-wheelers be seized, but their parents will also be fined,” he added.
ARTO Baramulla Mouzaim Ali also directed school authorities in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to ensure that all documents for school buses are completed within the next 15 days. Failure to comply will result in vehicles being blacklisted and schools facing fines.
He further said the Traffic Department’s measures aim to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations as schools resume operations in the region.
