Srinagar, April 28: Around 600 stranded Kashmiri labourers left Punjab for Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch after students now around 600 stranded Kashmiri labourers left Punjab for their home towns by 25 buses on Tuesday. He said they left in buses after J&K Govt. along with Punjab Govt. facilitate them amid the COVID-19 lockdown. The official further added they are expected to reach home tomorrow.
At least 400 students from parts of Punjab, had already reached their home towns from Kota, which is known for its coaching centers to prepare students for competitive exams, in the last two days after CM Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, JK Govt.’s Spokesperson Rohit Kansal and DC Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdary intervene and making arrangement of transport for their safe return.
Meanwhile, At least 1500 Kashmiris in Goa at present including some families appealed the administration headed by lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to intervene into the matter and evacuate them to the Valley.
