On duty BSF officer collapses on road, dies in hospital

Srinagar, Sep 26, : A Border Security Force officer stationed at Raj Bhawan Srinagar died in the hospital after collapsing on the road during patrolling duty here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.

Police sources told News Agency KNT that an Assistant Sub-Inspector of BSF Hayat Singh fell unconscious on the road during patrolling. He was shifted to Unit Headquarters at Pantha Chowk Srinagar, where doctors declared him dead.

The deceased BSF officer was affiliated with 163 Battalion of C Company Raj Bhawan Srinagar. Police in this regard have initiated proceedings under 174 CrPc.
