NEW DELHI, Sep 8: An orientation programme for newly promoted Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFCs) was inaugurated today at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS). The event was presided over by Shri Kumar Rohit, Director, PDUNASS, who welcomed the participants and encouraged them to make the most of the training.
A batch of thirty promoted officers from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has joined the Academy for a comprehensive three-week training programme. In his inaugural address, Shri Rohit urged the officer trainees to fully utilise the orientation to sharpen their decision-making, leadership skills, and accountability. He also advised them to learn from the best practices of Direct Recruit APFCs who underwent similar training earlier at the Academy.
Highlighting the objective of the course, Shri Rohit said it aims to prepare the officers for their enhanced responsibilities as Group-A officers. He stressed the importance of behavioural competencies in public administration, underlining “Compassion in Governance” as a key aspect to enable the officers to lead with empathy and contribute to building a positive image of the EPFO. Another crucial session on “Design Thinking” is designed to promote innovative and user-centric approaches to problem-solving and policy implementation.
The training module is structured around these thematic areas and includes a range of experiential learning activities. It will culminate in a four-day outbound training focusing on personal growth, team building, and leadership development.
The course has been meticulously curated by a team of experienced officers, led by Shri Ram Anand, RC-I and Course Director, with guidance from Shri Rizwan Uddin, RC-I and Chief Learning Officer. Shri Vijay Kumar, RC-I, who heads the Training Services Division of PDUNASS, will conduct the outbound training component.
The orientation programme reflects PDUNASS’s commitment to fostering continuous learning and capacity building, with the goal of strengthening the leadership, integrity, and service delivery capabilities of EPFO’s officer cadre.
