Sopore COVID-19 victim laid to rest in his own orchard

Sopore, April 17: A 70-year-old man of north Kashmir’s Sopore lost his battle of life with COVID-19 on Friday and became the fifth victim of this deadly virus in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official told Kashmir Despatch, as per guidelines set by WHO and Government of India, the deceased was laid to rest this evening in his hometown under the supervision of medical authorities, he said following norms only a few family members participated in the funeral after wearing proper protective gears.
Family sources told this newspaper, as a precautionary measure the dead body of the deceased was shifted from Arampora where the earlier grave was prepared for his burial later, on the intervention of family and medical authorities the dead body shifted to another location.

It is pertinent to mention here the current residential area of the deceased in Arampora is very congested, the graveyard is just beside his house. As this COVID-19 is known as the deadly virus, keeping an eye on its ill effects and contamination process it was decided to bury him outskirts of the town, finally, his family found a suitable place (Own Orchard in Adipora ) where he was laid to rest.
This is what Coronavirus is all about, it won’t let you fulfill the religious and spiritual rights.
As it was witnessed by a naked eye, no matter how much loveable you are in your family, God forbid if you ll get contaminated your own blood and your shadow tries to stay away from you. It was in the case of a deceased victim, who was buried out of area because of COVID-19 drastic impact.
It’s necessary for everyone to follow the procedural protocols and take protective measures to safeguard yourself and your families.
