District Cricket Association Anantnag declares election notification

It is hereby notified for all concerned that the elections to the posts of President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Joint Secretary shall be conducted on June
the 13th year 2019 for District Cricket Association Anantnag Kashmir.

The eligible candidates can collect the nomination forms from the camp
office of District Coordinators, established at sports stadium Anantnag Kashmir upto 1600 hours on 10-06-2019.

The nomination forms complete in all respects (requirements as enumerated in the forms) shall be received by the coordinators at the offices aforestated not beyond 1600 hours on 11-06-2019, which shall be cut off limit for submission of the forms, against the fee of Rupees Five
thousand only (Rs, 5000/-) for the post of president and Rupees four thousand Only (Rs, 4000/-) for other posts.


Nominations received within the cut off limit shall be put to scrutiny on
12-06-2019 at 1300 hours and the final list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared and displayed affixed at Town Hall Anantnag and at the office of sports council Anantnag at 1600 hours.


The venue for the conduct of elections and for voting shall be the town hall
Anantnag and that the voting shall commence at 1300 hours on 13-06-2019
and end at 1600 hours the same day.

Counting shall immediately proceed
thereafter and the results shall be immediately declared at the conclusion of
the counting.

Forms incomplete in any respect or deficient of any requirement shall be
liable to rejection without any further notice to the concerned, mere
acceptance of the form(s) shall in no way be considered as the eligibility of
the candidates unless cleared at scrutiny.

Eligible candidates can authorise a person in writing to be his representative who can remain present within the hall during voting hours no candidate shall be allowed entry in the voting hall till the actual
declaration of results. Right is reserved for expulsion of any representative’s aforestated from the voting hall for misconduct, and for any activity which shall have the effect of obstructing the fair and smooth conduct of elections.


It is further notified that the recognised and eligible teams /clubs, list whereof
shall be at display at the camp office established, shall collect the forms of
authorisation and nominate / authorise their respective Captains and Vice captains
to cast the vote for and on their behalf.

The forms aforestated shall be collected from the camp office either by the captain or by the vice captain of a particular eligible team / club upto 1600 hours on 10-06-2019 and the forms complete in all
respects (requirements as enumerated in the forms) shall be received by the coordinators not beyond 1600 hours on 11-06-2019. The final list of the eligible voters (clubs/ teams) shall be displayed at the town Hall Anantnag and at the Office of Sports council at sports stadium Anantnag Kashmir at 1600 hours on
12-06-2019.Each club team shall have only one vote to be casted either by the captain or by the vice captain of a particular club.

Forms of aforestated description shall be available for collation from 1000 hours
on 10-06-2019 at the camp office established at Sports stadium Anantnag.

House damaged partially in Sopore fire mishap

Sopore, Jun 09 : A residential house was damaged partially in a fire mishap in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Sunday afternoon.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a massive fire broke out in the double storey residential house of Altaf Ahmed Sofi of Tulibal Sopore this afternoon.

However a team of fire service department reached the spot and doused the increasing flames and put fire under control reports added.

In the mishap the house was partially damaged, however no loss of life or injury was reported.

Meanwhile a fire service official also confirmed this fire incident to Kashmir Despatch and said that timely efforts of department along with locals managed to douse the flames. He said that exact figure of loss was not immediately known. Officer further said that most probably the cause of fire is said to be short circut.

Altaf Bukhari grieved over demise of Showkat Ahmad Jan

SRINAGAR, June 9: Former finance minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of prominent social worker and a philanthropist Showkat Ahmad Jan who passed away at his residence in Magarmal Bagh this morning.  

In his condolence message issued here, Bukhari described Jan’s demise as a huge personal loss for him and his family. “Late Jan saheb was an epitome of amity, compassion and kindness.  As longtime friend and a mentor who always stood with me in my thick and thin, I personally knew Late Jan saheb very closely. He had not only carved a niche in social circles but was equally known for his humility among his friends and associates.”

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the former finance minister prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to his family to face this difficult time of grief and bereavement.  

“It was an honor to have known such a great person who has left indelible marks in my life. May God grant Jannat to the departed soul and bestow courage and endurance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.”

He remarked that the void left by the demise of Jan Saheb is hard to be filled not for his family but his friends and acquaintances. “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the grief stricken family to bear this inconsolable loss.”

Para commando killed in Mansbal of Central Kashmir

Srinagar, June 9 : A paratrooper was killed in an accidental fire at Mansbal area of Safapora in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said on Sunday.

A police officer told GNS that the army soldier namely Taran Kumar of 31 Para and was attached with army’s 3rd sector headquarters in Mansbal was injured critically after hit by a bullet while he was cleaning his service rifle inside the camp yesterday.

Kumar, a resident of Kathua was immediately taken to nearby army’s health facility where from he was referred to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh Srinagar where he succumbed later, the officer said.

He said that police has taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigations in this regard. (GNS)

Municipal committee orders to go online within a week

Srinagar, Jun 08 : Director local bodies Kashmir division on Saturday directed Municipal Committee orders be made online within a week.

Director Local bodies while talking to news agency said that within a week all the orders from the office will be made online. “All the orders that are made through this office are to be made online,” he said, adding that it is strictly directed that no order to be made manually after the end of this week.

Impressing upon the district municipal committees to direct sweepers to attend their duties without fail, Director said that “sanitation is one of the main issues we face at the moment and all the district municipal committees are directed to ask the sweepers to duly adhere to their duties.” (GNS)

Case filed against chemist shop over sale of expired medicine in Lalpora

Kupwara, Jun 08 : A case was filed against a local chemist shop for allegedly selling an expired injection to a female patient, suffering from some intestinal infection.

Reports reaching said that the patient was prescribed medicine by a doctor at NTPHC Lalpora.

The attendants accompanying the patient were first provided with a substitute medicine by a medical shop but it turned out to be expired one, reports said.

The attendants sought intervention from the concerned authorities to seek the reason as to why the expired injection was sold to them. “Did it happen inadvertently or was it deliberate,” the attendants questioned.

Police sources talking to news agency said that case under FIR (number 49/2019) under section 420 has been registered against the erring chemist shop at Police station Lalpora.

The locals have also alleged the medical shops of selling sub-standard medicines at exorbitant prices. “We request the concerned authorities for a thorough assessment of the medicines sold by chemist shops in the area,” they said.

Taking a strong notice of the issue, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has sought a report and directed Tehsildar Lalpora to visit the hospital to assess the situation. “Strong action will be taken against those who are found guilty in this matter” DC Kupwara said. (GNS)

Nine killed in Leh road accident

Nine people were killed on Saturday in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Leh district.

Police said the tragedy occured when a truck (registration number JK 13B 0171) coming from Srinagar to Leh rolled down near Moon Land Lamayuru.


“In this accident nine persons belonging to two families of Bilwara Ajmer Rajasthan were seriously injured and were taken to hospital Khaltsi where the doctors declared them as brought dead,” he said, adding that another family member injured in the mishap was under treatment.

M/S Arzi in Education Zone Nagseni for provoking and instigating public against project administration thereby causing hindrance in project work.

Acting tough against the erring employee, DDC placed Rakesh Kumar Teacher under suspension with immediate effect who shall remain attached in the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar during suspension period.

Further, the Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Hanief Malik was appointed as an Enquiry officer to conduct an in-depth Enquiry and submit the factual report within a week’s time positively.

J&K High Court to remain closed for summer vacation from June 10

Srinagar, June 8, : The Jammu and Kashmir High court issues a notification order stating that J&K State High Court will remain closed for summer vacations from June 10 to June 28, 2019 (Both days inclusive).

Meanwhile, the summer vacations for Trial Court Jammu Division will come in effect from June 10, 2019, to June 24, 2019 (Both days inclusive), according to an order issued by Registrar General Sanjay Dhar.

The order reads, “It is notified for the information of all concerned that the Subordinate Courts of Jammu Province excluding the courts located at Bhadarwah, Kishtwar, Doda, Batote, Gool, Bani, Banihal and Ukhral, shall observe 15 days summer vacations with effect from June 10, 2019 to June 24, 2019 (Both days inclusive).

Registrar General Sanjay Dhar also asked the Principal District and Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates of all the Districts to make suitable arrangements for disposal of urgent criminal business arising during the period of such vacations in the areas within their respective jurisdiction.

JKPM urges Chairman NTA to set up adequate NET centers in Kashmir

Anantnag, Jun 08 : JKPM leader and Supreme Court Advocate, Syed Iqbal Tahir has demanded to set up adequate number of UGC-NET centers in Srinagar so that Kashmir based aspirants are not forced to move outside valley to appear in the examinations scheduled on June 28,2019.

He has sought intervention of the Chairman, National Testing Agency (NTA ), Professor M.S. Ananth and Advisor to the Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai to meet the demand of the Kashmir based aspirants to set up adequate number of UGC-NET centres in Kashmir. 
 
In a statement issued , Iqbal Tahir has urged that National Testing Agency should provide all possible facilities to the Kashmiri students so that career of thousand of Kashmiri aspirants is safe- guarded.

Talking to a deputation of aggrieved NET aspirants, who had come from various parts of Kashmir, Iqbal said that interests of the Kashmiri students will be protected at all costs adding that Ministry of HRD would also be approached in this regard.

He said NTA should provide a conducive and congenial examination atmosphere to the Kashmiri students so that they could compete in various national level tests.

Iqbal Tahir has said, that keeping in view the Un- predictable condition of Srinagar- Jammu National Highway and skyrocketting air fares from Srinagar, setting up of adequate number of NET examimation centres in Kashmir would redress grievances of the local aspirants to a great extent.
