After turning heads in a golden saree and a black pantsuit, Kangana Ranaut wowed the onlookers in her third look at the ongoing 72nd edition of Cannes International Film Festival. The Manikarnika actor opted for an all-white gown with a trail. To add a colour pop to her look, she chose some interesting jewellery.

Her team shared the photos of her third outfit at Cannes 2019 on Instagram. “Live like you are made for the red carpet!!” read the caption of the photo.

Later, another set of clicks showed Kangana’s look from the Chopard party. Her team posted a photo that has the actor posing like a boss lady with the caption, “The glow before the Chopard party ??”

Shoaib Malik rattles all three stumps in hit-wicket dismissal

Pakistan batsmen have performed exceptionally in the series against England. They have already lost the five-match series 3-0 with one game washed out, but they can take plenty of positives from their effort with the bat. The series is the final serious competition both hosts England and Pakistan having going into the ICC World Cup 2019.

In the fourth ODI, played on Friday, veteran Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik was dismissed for 41 runs from 26 balls. Despite a fiery inning, one would mostly remember his exit than anything else.

In the 47th over of the first innings in Nottingham, Malik looked to make room on the off side to Mark Wood. As he got his feet in position for the attempted cut, he went too far back in the crease to end up smashing his own stumps. Not just one stump or tip of the bails but all three stumps.

Pakistan finished with 340/7 following a ton by Babar Azam (115), fifties from Fakhar Zaman (57) and Mohammad Hafeez (59) and a cameo by skipper Sarfraz Ahmed (21 off 14). For England, seamer Tom Curran was the wrecker-in-chief as he picked up four wickets. Wood picked up a brace, whereas, Jofra Archer scalped a solitary wicket of Asif Ali.

Earlier, Malik had returned home citing personal reasons and missed the T20I and the first three ODIs.

Suspended Conscience

0

Adage goes that those who shift their loyalties for their personal gains do not have dead conscience but they keep it in suspended animation. Same holds true with one of our ‘elected’ functionaries in SMC who hitherto was in a big political party to save his skin from the wrath of banks and other enforcement institutions. Now sensing that the wind blows from the other side, the same entrepreneur has shifted his loyalties and taken ‘oath of allegiance’ to a house that holds some command over power corridors.

Nevertheless, these things are very common in Kashmir and people are enough mature to judge such actors without the help of any political psychologist. We have enough of such political and non political entities in this state who have been just concerned about the well-being of their personal interests. Come what may, they will always keep an eye on the opportunities available for their personal gains. They even do not shy away attaching the sobriquets with their names to hide their ugly agenda. Conflict ridden families who have lost their kith and kin in the din of the unfortunately directionless political issue hardly matters for such personalities. Not to think of their interests and their well-being. They don’t give it a damn.

Need of the hour is that majority should participate in the democratic process so that the street urchins and selfish entities are not provided a chance to occupy the chairs they do not deserve.
