Hajjin : Braving incessant rains several thousands of people including women on Monday morning attended the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba North Kashmir militants at their native village Hajjin.

14 year old boy Mudasir Rashid Parray his native companion Saquib Bilal Shiekh along with foreigner militant Ali Bhai were killed in an overnight gunfight in Mujgund area of Srinagar.

A large number of mourners shouted pro-freedom slogans while carrying both bodies of militants in a procession to the martyrs’ graveyard for burial.

Amid sloganeering both slain militants were laid to rest.

Hajjin,Dec 10 : Several thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of two Lashker e Toiba militants in Hajjin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district amid shutdown and clashes on Monday.

14 year old boy Mudasir Rashid Parray his native companion Saquib Bilal Shiekh along with foreign militant Ali Bhai were killed in a 18 hour long gunfight at Mujgund area of Srinagar on Sunday.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said after the burial of two militants, violent clashes erupted in the area between government forces and people.

Reports said scores of youth and women clashed with police and paramilitary CRPF.

The forces resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the youth, who pelted stones and bricks on them.

The clashes in the area was on when filed this report.

Hajjin, Dec 10 : Braving incessant rains several thousands of people including women on Monday morning attended the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba North Kashmir militants at their native village Hajjin.

An eyewitness said that thousands of people braving rains assembled in Hajjin Eidgah to take part in the last rites of both slians.

A large number of mourners shouted pro-freedom slogans while carrying both militants body in a procession to the martyrs’ graveyard for burial, reports added.

Earlier authorities have suspended the Internet service in parts of Bandipora as a precautionary measure.

Pertinently clashes between the government forces and people rocked in Hajjin village on Sunday after the news of two local militants killed spread in the area.

In the day long clashes several persons including women received Injuries and were later hospitalised.

Meanwhile parts of Hajjin shuts to mourn the Killing of two local militants.

Sopore search called off as nothing suspicious found

Sopore, Dec 10 : The search operation in Sopore village in the wake of inputs about suspicious movement was called off after few hours on Monday.

Official sources told Kashmir Despatch that we have called off search operation in Krankshivan as nothing suspicious has been found in the area.

Army’s 52 RR, special operation group of police (SOG) and CRPF earlier this day jointly sealed Krankshivan village of Sopore on specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Pertainally a complete shutdown is being observed in parts of Sopore on Hurriyat call.

All business establishments are closed while thin movement of traffic is plying on roads.

Residential house gutted in fire mishap in Border town

Baramulla, Dec 10 : A residential house was gutted in a fire mishap which reported in North Kashmir’s Border town on early Monday morning.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a residential house of Vishpanath at Laghama area of Uri was gutted in a fire mishap this morning.

Reports said that locals rushed to the spot to douse the flames but could’nt save the house.

However the exact figure of loss was not known immediately.

Meanwhile police took cognizance of this fire mishap and said that the cause of fire was not known immediately.

Fresh snowfall closes Mughal road

POONCH ( GNS) Following the fresh snowfall in the high altitude areas including Pir Ki Gali today, the traffic authorities closed the Mughal Road for vehicular traffic.

The Mughal road- connecting the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region with south Kashmir’s Shopian district was closed today early Morning in a following the fresh snowfall in the area.

“We have decided to close the road for vehicular traffic due to slippery road conditions in view of the snowfall,” SDM Surankote Mohd Saleem Qurasi told GNS.

He said that they have asked the officials at Shopian as well not to allow the traffic on the road as a precautionary measure.

The road will be re-opened once the weather conditions improve, the officer said.(GNS)

I am happy that my son died as martyr, says slain Hajin militant’s mother

“I am happy that my son died as a martyr as he had chosen the righteous path, ” says mother of slain teenage boy who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Muj Gund in the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday.

Saqib Bilal Shiekh son of Bilal Ahmad Sheikh of Parrey Mohalla Hajin who killed in the encounter had joined militant ranks after went missing in August this year.

Mehbooba, mother of Saqib said that she had no regrets because his son died as a martyr. “When he went missing on August 31 from his home we were not aware that he had joined militant ranks. After almost a month we came to know he has joined militant ranks when he sent us a communication but during these three month we couldn’t meet him, “she said.

She said that she was happy as his son was on a righteous path. “He had chosen this path willingly and I pray to Almight to accept his martyrdom. He had faced lot hardships during these three months and finally his prayers has been answered as he embraced martyrdom, ” Mehbooba said.

Bodies of two locals handed over to families, to be buried tomorrow; internet snapped for day in Srinagar, Bandipora

Srinagar, Dec 9 (GNS): Three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, two of them locals, were killed in an encounter with government forces at Mujgund area on Srinagar-Bandipora road, a police spokesman said on Sunday. The bodies of two locals militants have been handed over to the family for last rites and according to the family, both of them would be laid to rest tomorrow.

He said a search operation was launched yesterday jointly by Police, army and CRPF based on a credible input about the presence of militants.

“During the search operation, the search party was fired upon by the hiding (militants). The fire was retaliated, leading to a gunfight. In the initial exchange of fire one army jawan sustained injuries and was shifted to hospital for medical treatment,” the spokesman said

In the ensuing encounter, three militants were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter.

The police identified the slain as Mudasir Rashid Parray, Saqib Bilal Sheikh, both residents of Hajin Bandipora and Ali, a Pakistani. “The trio were affiliated with militant outfit LeT.”

Ali according to police records was involved in several attacks on security establishments. “He was involved in recruitments in Hajin and Sumbal areas of Bandipora.”

“In the initial exchange of fire, one army jawan was injured who is admitted in hospital. Three civilians also sustained injuries as the area was in open and the injured were shifted to hospital for medical treatment. They are stated to be stable”.

The spokesman said the huge quantity of arms and ammunition including rifles were recovered from the site of encounter. “All these materials have been taken in the case records for further investigation and probe their complicity in the cases.”

Sources told GNS that bodies of Parray and Sheikh have been handed over to their families while the corpse of Ali was lying in PCR. Meanwhile, internet services remained suspended in Srinagar and Bandipora from early Sunday morning till 1800 hours. (GNS)

Hajjin Clashes in Pictures

Hajjin : Clashes broke out between the protesters and the government forces in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after the news spread about the killing of a local militant in an overnight gunfight in Mujgund area of Srinagar.

Reports said that groups of youth took to streets and staged protests soon after the news of the killing of 14-year-old militant Mudasir Ahmad Parray  and Saquib Bilal Shiekh reached their native Hajin area of Bandipora district.

The youth hurled stones on the forces deployed in the area to prevent protests.

The forces, according to witnesses, resorted to tear gas shelling and pellet firing to disperse the protesting youth.

Parray was killed along Saquib Bilal Shiekh his native companion and a foreign militant Ali Bhai in an 18-hour-long gunfight with the government forces in Mujgund area on the outskirts of Srinagar.

Five forces’ personnel were wounded in the firefight that ended today morning.

Meanwhile Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has paid tribute to its slain men Abu Ali Mudassir, Abu Muaz Saqib and others who were killed in a gunfight with government forces at Mujgund, Srinagar on Sunday morning.

Mujgund gunfight: Protests erupt in Hajin after killing of two local militants

Hajjin village of Bandipora remained tense following the killing of two local militants in an overnight gunfight in Mujgund area of Srinagar.

Three militants who were killed in the gunfight at Mujgund that erupted on Saturday, have been later identified as 14-year-old Mudasir Rashid Parray, Saqib Bilal Sheikh and Ali.

Mudasir and Saqib were both from Bandipora’s Hajin area whereas the third militant named Ali was from Pakistan.

All three of them were associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit, police further said.
