SRINAGAR, Oct 27 : The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved Kashmir issue once for all and this is what the former chief minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti was expecting from the BJP led government in the centre.

Addressing a news conference, BJP’s J&K Vice President, Vibodh Gupta told the media persons that Mehbooba Mufti had stated that the only man who can resolve the Kashmir-issue is the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “PM has come up to her expectations as he resolved the Kashmir issue by abrogating Article 370 last year. After resolving the issue once for all, there is no fun in raising hue and cry now,” he said.

He added “the only pending issue is to get back the Pakistan occupied Kashmir, which also will be resolved soon.”

Gupta, who was accompanied by senior BJP leader Sofi Akbar and Manzoor Bhat said that the delay by Maharaja Hari Singh to go ahead with the accession was only because Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was putting pressure on him to give the interim government in Jammu and Kashmir in the hands of Sheikh Abdullah.

He added that the unconstitutional special status was removed constitutionally by the central government in the parliament on August 05 last year.

Speaking about yesterday’s ‘tricolor’ rally, the BJP Vice President said that yesterday’s event should be an eye-opener for the mainstream leaders and they should understand that tricolor is everything for the people of Kashmir.

“In case people were against us, they would have pelted stones on us. But, as there was no such incident reported anywhere, the people have sent a message to these leaders that tricolor is everything for them,” he added.

He also said that the leaders are making different statements when in power and out of power.
