
No let-up in the vigil by the army: GoC 19 Inf Div

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Lt.Gen BS Raju, GOC Chinar Corps on Tuesday said that youth who have shot video and picked up arms can still come back.
According to Kashmir Despatch GOC said, “Situation has improved (in Kashmir), youth should use it. Young ones should focus on studies, others should work & not choose the wrong path. It’s my appeal- If you’ve picked up arms & shot a video, doesn’t mean you are a militant, you can come back, ” he said this on the sidelines of Jammu and Kashmir: Chinar Corps celebrate the 74th Infantry Day at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar.
“I congratulate infantry jawans deployed in tough terrains & hinterlands, they can reach where no one,” says Lt. Gen BS Raju, GOC Chinar Corps.
About Infantry Day, the GoC 15 Corps said that Infantry is an important name and soldiers from the Infantry Division have a potential to work with other agencies too like air-force and Navy. “Infantry is playing a great role in every battle. I want to put it on record that we are able to take any kind of task,” he said.
Meanwhile, The top army officer on Tuesday said that there has been no let-up in the vigil of the army along the line of control despite the China situation.
General officer Commanding (GoC) of Baramulla based army’s 19 Infantry division Major General Virender Vats talking with the media on the sidelines of the of Infantry Day function in north Kashmir’s Baramulla said army has a fair amount of control on the LoC situation despite China situation. He said the resources we have at the LoC are quite adequate and infiltration has been largely plugged this year.
GOC said that the army is ready to tackle each and every situation along the line of control.
He said this year hardly any inflitration took place and at larger extent the army has succeed in foiling major inflitration bids.
The GOC said that army is well prepared to take on any security challenge to help citizens of the nation. He said the preparedness was excellent enough to take on any security challenge with the result this year hardly any inflitration took place.
The top army officer said that Pakistan is continuing with its mission to disturb the peaceful environment in Jammu and Kashmir but its efforts would fail as army is fully prepared to meet any eventualities.
